it allows you to do whatever the fuck you want
the game is incedibly robust with it's features and with it's game depth it's incredibly fun to do a lot of shit to fuck around with people
the reason why this game is still played 22 years later is that there's not really any games like it that offer the same experience, there's not really a game that i can name that is like ss13, it's kinda it's own separate thing. not only that but the source code being easily moddable allows you to add anything you want aswell

figure out the menu at the right, byond status stuff can help later
dont be afraid to ask for help
if you want use intents instead of combat mode it's nicer
you will either become a player who enjoys atmos and chem or hates it
most rounds are an hour long iirc
