i did not wear my headphones all day and they don't smell too bad but once I put them on and wear them for an hour or so the heat activates the stink that has soaked into the fabric and activated it and the smell comes out them once they cool off again the smell goes away again

the earwax causes a different type of smell i would describe as slightly buttery or milky if you wash they to try get that smell out and they dont dry properly they can also develop the classic we dog smell but still slightly buttery i think its the bacteria within the earwax which is different

this would help a major problem is that the smell gets stuck inside the fibers so even if you wipe them down it penetrates deep into the material and wiping them does not remove the smell
