ITT we discuss our favourite ancient civilizations

for me, its the Greeks by far, specifically the pre platonic athenian period

i adore them because imo they knew how to live, like what is required for that is to stop courageously at the surface. the fold, the skin, to adore appearance, to believe in forms, tones, words in the whole Olympus of appearance, and what i mean by that, is that the pre platonic greeks knew where to stop, i hate platonian philosophy and in extention christianity(platonic philosopy for the masses) because i think it tried to hard to look for the justification of suffering, its obsession with the hidden world, is unhealthy
also their olympus of appearance being their gods of passions and drives, who used to represent, thus transforming the ordinary human impulses upto a divine level

i utterly think they were superficial out of profundity, in that they knew where to stop searching, and be confident enough to glide on the aesthetic, look at beautiful appearances and cultivate art, nor would they do it out of ignorance like barbarians, their philosophical texts show that they knew that living required form, bounaries, zooming in and out and the art of moving the focus/light
