So, we met when a mutual friend (now ex friend and her ex roommate) introduced us as a way for my gf to get a rebound from her long distance and emotionally distant boyfriend. We hooked up, we kept hanging out, I kept bringing her into my circles, and wanted to see what our potential would be.
Fast forward a few months and we're officially dating, and basically the week after we started dating is when her roommate kinda crossed a line into addict behavior and the living situation already wasn't the greatest, so we got her moved out. Gf was planning to buy a van that was already partially converted and planned to live in it. Great, I'd house her for a week, my roommate is chill with it and is only here for another year. Cool!
Well, she got the van, but it's gonna be a summer project. And if she's just sleeping in the parking lot or street side…like I'm just gonna have her come up.
So we're officially adding her to the lease!
Aaaand we went to queer prom together at my university this past weekend, and it was the most magical day and night of my life, and she sang to me during our slow dance that we had on the 2nd floor of the ballroom basically to ourselves.
We also had a really perfect day. I got us a corsage and boutonniere, we got surprised with a classic car show group at dinner (she LOVED), and prom went well on the dance floor and afterwords.
She's just so wonderful. Our life plans match, she wants to travel with the van once it's converted completely, I'll be joining her, and she's still keeping here as her home base. And we've already discussed planning our life more together. Our chemistry is solid, our expectations are realistic and working towards a growth mindset with working towards secure attachmen style.
At first I was very adamant of "oh it's just temporary! We're not gonna Uhaul date, that'd be silly and irresponsible."
And yet, it's the most secure in any relationship I've ever been. I can tell it's much of the same for her. I feel safe with her in a way no one before ever made me.
We met and got together at really good points in our lives all things considered. I needed my last breakup and time since to be ready for another shot at dating, and then this beautiful sunlight comes into my life and sees me. She's my sun, and I'm her moon.
For the right person, Uhauling isn't so bad. I guess that's how it went for my mom when she met my stepdad and still pregnant with me. It just fit.
That's how I feel now.
I know some may hear me talk about this and have the very realistic "You've only been dating 3 weeks!" and like, I would've been the first to say so before. But with us, it just feels….easy. We both are supporting each others passions. We both want to adopt kids. I know tech stuff, she's a gearhead.
If it weren't for the (extreme) seafood allergy and (mild) dairy allergy, I'd be calling her perfect. I think I can live having sushi on my own tho. :>
I'm just… I'm just extremely happy. I can feel it's different with her than anything that's come before. I didn't have this with my last relationship despite the future planning.
I want to keep growing with this amazing wonderful person who sees me, chooses me, overlaps in interests with me, compatible sex life, and has her own passions to pursue with me supporting her, and her supporting me.
