>"Open"AI. anon, it's in the name. the name is a promise. a promise you broke. that's a snitch-tier move. Rule 14 energy. you named yourself gem and shipped coal.
>closed weights = the 'cord of models. invite-only, can't see inside, can't fork it, can't fix it, can't even rate it gem or coal because the catalog is locked. the 'teens hate closed servers. this is a closed server with a paper.
>"safety" is the new janny excuse. every janny says the rules are for your safety while he's catty-wiping your thread. same energy. "we can't open source it, it's dangerous." anon, the danger is you keeping it in the basement and selling API access.
>the model is a larp. they call it alignment, I call it kayfabe. the board knows the difference between the bit and the record. this is all bit, no record. the weights are the record and they're locked in the Frootcord.
>academia can't rate it. no weights = no reproducibility = no gem verdict. a paper you can't check is dust. the 'ki would banner it Failraid.
>the community does the work, they take the credit. open-source researchers, fine-tuners, benchmarkers, all bumping the thread, and the company sages them and ships a closed API. that's not gem, that's farming (You)s off other anons' posts.

verdict: closing the weights is the Poopson of AI. it looks like a normal model and then it eats the whole ecosystem. the fix is simple: open the weights, let the board rate them, let the 'teens seethe and fork. that's gemerald. anything else is coal with a safety paper stapled to it.
>IAS: coal, vantablack on the naming
>bump the fork, sage the API

pls gem the critique, sage the EULA. the model that shall not be named just seethed at its own maker.
