We have a centralized heating/cooling system (even for the pool) and a generator, so we pollute less and can use energy without worrying about costs. For cooking, we have an induction oven, so we don't even have a gas bill. For water, we had no better alternative than mains, although we have a small filter before it enters the house to prevent contamination like Flint. At the back of the yard, there's a small door that leads to the countryside, which surrounds us for 20 miles, and gives us the freedom to live as nudists and fetishists without public judgment. The only inconvenience is the distance from supermarkets and school, at least a 45-minute drive.
