I was clinically obese from the ages of around 5 or 6 to 12 and I only began losing weight when I was 13-14 by purposefully limiting myself to one or two meals a day almost every day until I became thinner, which worked in the short term when my BMI finally dropped below 20 but it gradually fluctuated and then somewhat rebounded a few years later. Right now, I'm definitionally skinnyfat because my weight is average but I have low muscle mass and low testosterone. If I could turn back time I probably wouldn't do the food intake restriction thing again because I feel I likely lost out on at least an inch of height or a few IQ points by not getting enough nutrition during that early puberty growth period but it is what it is

No but I was anorexic as a teen, not anymore but still underweight. In the end it worked out well for me because I'll have better fat distribution by being skinny before starting HRT, and it messed up my puberty
