Is it worth it to swap to linux entirely or just upgrade to W11 Enterprise and follow the 'ki instructions for installation and debloating.

I was thinking mint xfce since its generally leaner but I saw an article that said cinnamon is more compatible with newer graphics cards.

I also thought about FreeBSD but the different versions of it don't work with newer graphics cards currently, and the docs for using just FreeBSD are very scary.

It all depends on what you use your computer for.

Also, don't bother with FreeBSD on the desktop. It's an excellent server for sure, but on the desktop, it's just a disaster.

use arch

Arch is cumbersome nuswah, I don't want to have to spend a week configuring it. I'd just prefer something more simple but I'll give it a look.

Vidya games, 3D modeling and Work/Documents. Mint comes with Libreoffice so I figured it's a good choice already.

I don't recommend using mint for that. Mint is good for trying out linux but for gaming arch or fedora based distros are better, I personally recommend CachyOS, though it is based on arch and can be buggy sometimes so you will have to learn a little bit about linux, but it's very user friendly and probably has the best gaming performance out of any distros

you should switch to linux

the steamdeck situation has made it so that you can run 99% of games via lutris/wine on linux, even those with invasive drm are somehow compatible enough.
the thing about linux is that it comes without any bloat, so you don't need to spend 8+ hours to remove the ads from your wallpaper and the ai garbage from your file browser and the telemetry, so on, because why the fuck would that be on linux

I knew about that nusoi, I just wanted to know if there's a decent distro outside of mint.

I'm ok with running a VM to do windows only stuff, as certain modeling software in my field can only run on windows. as long as i can do most of the other things like docs with libreoffice and internet browsing then its fine.

I appreciate all the nuswahs opinions, i'll look into arch and cachy when i can.
