Honestly, I think it would get a ridiculous amount of attention at first. If you actually bought the site and made it an “anything goes” place where basically nothing was prohibited, you'd probably get a huge influx of people just because they wanted to see how far they could push it. The problem is that once you remove basically all moderation, you're not just getting edgy jokes and shitposting, you'd also end up dealing with spam, scams, harassment, illegal content, and people deliberately trying to get the site taken down.

It could probably be an interesting experiment for a while, but you'd still need some kind of line between “anything goes” and “we are legally hosting whatever users decide to upload.” Even 4chan has rules and moderation for that reason. Otherwise I imagine the site would become less of an anarchist free-for-all and more of a constant battle between users, moderators, lawyers, and whoever is trying to keep the servers running.
