i learned russian
the alphabet itself you can learn to read within a week if you study, you'll read it as quickly as you do english within a few months
once you get past that point russian doesnt have as many words shared with english despite being the most westernized slavic language, so building vocab is a bit harder than like spanish would be
pronouncing: the hardest letters for an english to learn are ы, rolled R, and the difference between ш and щ. but no matter what you VILL get clocked as a stinky pindos almost instantly unless you sink 10+ years into learning russian
the hardest part is going to be learning the grammar and case system, especially since cases are affected by gender and a whole bunch of other BS.
its easier to learn than like an obscure language since theres lots of russian language communities online and you'll encounter it often, infact russkies tend to have their own mainland sites like vkontakte and dvach
overall, i would say russian is not only easier than people claim, its also very useful

polski is like 40% similar to russian so probably a lot easier than if your native language wasnt slavic
