soyjaks have been mainstream since at least kuz, maybe doll at the latest, both of which allowed gore. meanwhile they had the highest average PPH of all time (not counting the 'cuckset or the salt era), meanwhile quote (who allowed no gore) was getting double digit averages during eurohours. my theory is that gore actually attracts newGODS since the ability to post basically whatever you want anonymously is what draws people into imageboards, along with the "heckin' illegal hacker site" feel that gore provides. nobody wants to use a shitty rulecucked imageboard (except autistic pussies who like the imageboard format but can't handle edginess), but everyphono wants to use a site that offers them freedom.
this doesn't mean gore is le bad, I think newGODS are a net positive for the site, and thus gore is also le good.
I also do think gore does a good job at keeping undesirables out. not newGODS entirely, but the aforementioned autistic fags who will be crying about this site allowing people to say nigger in like 3 years. during the quote era you could already find actual trannies with pronouns in their bio posting about using the sharty offsite, in fact every time someone self-doxxed they'd turn out to be some aspie tranny furry weeb freak who shouldn't be alive let alone posting on this site. you never saw any of this shit in any other era because every other era allowed gore in some capacity.
