However, with the majority of people now spending more time consuming media than having IRL experiences, the concept of real and fake have began to blend together. When people watch a tv show about events or people they know nothing about, they don't have the sense to realize what aspects are humorous exaggerations or totally fabricated. Fundamentally, society is broken because the very people who comprise it no longer understand its basic structure. Irony, absurdism, and an inability to engage with serious topics - think the ever present need for "comedic relief" in modern media, have left the average person clueless and desensitized. Human led civilization will be lost in 2-3 generations, and AI feudalism will replace it.
