this robotic ass moderation style where you can't just delete shit for being shit and every moderation decision must strictly adhere to da rulez and because of that it's fine to post "soytan BBC general" but you can get banned for spamming scat porn under it is something that begin with froot, and has only coaled up the site more and more since then.
intent should be everything. nothing should matter except for intent. a thread made to rile up the userbase, to coal up the 'log, to harm the site, should be treated with more scrutiny than a thread made with the intent of starting genuine discussion or contributing original content or making a joke, yet more often than not, the reverse ends up being true.
niggas complain all the time about 'teens replying to bait and shit, but it happens because the site's moderation favors low effort bait. when the rules are set in stone, and are strictly adhered to, what happens is malicious actors will find loopholes, skirt the line between what is and isn't allowed (the nigga spamming guro hentai a while back was a good example of this), while genuine posters will get fucked over by vague rules that jannies barely understand how to enforce, because genuine posters aren't looking for loopholes, they just post casually.
