I put over 1200 hours into the game in under a year. I started playing in OG Season 1 (Not actual season 1, just the event in 2024) then I played throughout all of chapter 5 + chapter 2 remix. After that the game got boring to me.
I found it fun enough to play for hours on end everyday, but ever since chapter 6 it just became more of a chore to play, so I just quit.
As for gameplay, it was ok. I found zero builds more fun because I didn't even bother learning building mechanics until a month or so before I quit. Fortnite also made me sick of the battle royale genre, I played Battlefield 6 for a while and when they came out with the battle royale mode I just didn't like it, I had grown tired of the battle royale shit in general.

tl;dr: I played too much fortnite and got bored, gameplay is hard to learn if you start off playing build mode. If you play zero builds then it's ok but you'll probably get bored.
