Every concert I've ever been to has been both painfully loud and also almost impossible to hear. Even with musicians whom I like when listening on youtube or something, in person it sounds like shit. My suspicion is that there is a gaggle of "core fanbase" faggots who have been going to concerts for years and years such that their ears are deafened to the point that to better fit their tastes the music needs to be at a volume painful to any sane person. I don't understand it otherwise. It ruins the experience. And having to bring earplugs or something is totally insane and counterproductive. It makes the music even more difficult to hear / muddy.
