I think, a comprehensive but simple definition of a sandwich that people would agree with is "2 pieces of the same food or a similar looking piece of food with another one but must be multiple,stacked on top of eachother or more VERTICALLY, but a savory or sweet filling is put before the two same pieces of food or more, but at least one ingridient in the filling must not be the one stacked, but the filling must be visible when cut,uncut, or both and if it can be held too" so a burger is a sandwich, a Big mac is a sandwich, a double down kfc is a sandwich,a three layer pancake ALMOST qualified but the filling is the same so it isnt a sandwich,a birthday cake cut in half then you put filling in between is NOT a sandiwh because when you put the birthday cake back together you cant see it but a hotdog is DEFINETLY NOT a sandwich
