if you don't move around that much and just move houses you could get a PC they're not the easiest to move safely but they're really powerful and are better in terms of performance and upgrades than laptops

OP, you said you won't be moving around a lot, so just get a desktop. Laptops are shit. They cost a lot, aren't as powerful, overheat easily, can't be easily upgraded or have their components replaced, feature tons of proprietary bloatware, etc. I have had multiple laptops have die on me or become unusable, but I have used my current desktop for years and it has experienced no noticeable degradation.
