The silence in this room has become a physical weight, pressing against my chest until breathing felt like labor. For years I told myself it was temporary—that the ache would dull, that tomorrow might bring clarity—but now there is only the slow, grinding certainty that I am simply out of place in a world designed for others. My hands tremble as I trace the rim of this cup, the same one I drank from every morning since college; soon it will be just another object gathering dust, indifferent to whether I existed or not. The darkness outside is beginning to bleed inward, swallowing the edges of my sight, and with each passing second the distinction between 'being' and 'almost being' grows thinner until I suspect I may have already ceased to matter completely.
