I always come up with gemmy af ideas. I used to make gems of these ideas all the time, and people love them and post my gems commonly, but within the last year or two I've lost nearly all of my motivation and attention span required to make these things.
It just doesn't feel worth the effort anymore. I can spend a ton of time making and cleaning up my gems to where they satisfy my expectations, and then post them, only to get completely ignored by an active log and bumped down into obscurity. What usually happens is that someone finds my OC months later on the booru and THEN it gets spammed everywhere and used in people's own gems and that makes the effort worthwhile, but at that point I have moved on and it doesn't feel the same. Back in the day, when someone made OC it would get tons of attention, so everyone was making tons of gemmy high effort OC. But now OC just gets bumped off the log unless its something exceptional, and usually that means it came from offsite. Its like soyteens forgot how to reply to and bump anything that isn't bait or SNCA or commisioned art of sotyan and co.
When I see OC I try to bump it, and you should too. The more attention you give people for making OC, the more encouraged people are to make it and the more confident people are that it won't fall on blind eyes.
What happened? How can we revitalize OC (that isn't board-tan bullshit) being a sharty log staple?
Also any advice to make myself motivated to do anything but sit and consume? I barely can make myself go out for groceries anymore, and when I do it's an excruciatingly difficult task to leave my house (its completley fine once I leave my bubble doe). I can't even find the willpower to do lazy things like video games I used to enjoy. Everything is boring. Only thing I can do is refresh feeds and begrudgingly take care of chores.
Anyone else feel like I do? Its really a terrible way to live. I think winter has a lot to do with it. Also people may tell me to stop being a neet, but when I was doing college, I was even more of a zombie after getting home. I feel like the only way a job would fix it is if it was an engaging one I felt satisfied and valued for doing.
I feel like my brainfog also is a reflection of the sharty's brainfog too, as I identified very strongly with the site and it was my community before it got huge, so the mental parameters of the sharty maybe projected onto me.

I feel the same. maybe we outgrew making OC for the sharty but didn't realize we were meant to move onto greater things
