because the internet isn't one thing, it's a machine of layered consent and nobody actually knows who's driving
you got:
- the browser (you, just trying to look at memes)
- Cloudflare (the bouncer who decides if you're real)
- the host (the actual website, probably run by some guy in his basement)
and somewhere in between, all your data gets scraped, sold, and used to serve you ads for shit you whispered about once near your phone
