Oh, look at them. A whole army of screaming, gibberish-spouting yellow marshmallows in denim overalls. You love them, don't you? Parents, toddlers, internet trolls—everyone looks at these cylindrical little thumb-people and giggles.
Let's dissect the punchline. What is a Minion, really? It’s a creature built from the ground up to serve the biggest, baddest villain in the room, only to bungle every single plan, blow up the headquarters, and accidentally survive because they’re essentially indestructible little rubber chew toys.
I've worked with henchmen before. Believe me, I know the type. You hire a guy named Goon #3, you give him a Tommy gun and a sharp suit, and five minutes later he's tripping over his own shoelaces or getting clotheslined by a guy in a bat costume. But at least my boys had the decency to bleed! These yellow freaks don't even have bones. You can drop an anvil on their heads, blast them into orbit, or feed them to piranhas, and ten seconds later they’re giggling about a banana and speaking a dialect of Spanish and gibberish.
And what are they serving? Evil? Please. They spend a thousand years looking for a master just so they can accidentally vaporize a T-Rex or blow up Napoleon. They are walking, talking workplace safety violations wrapped in yellow spandex. They are the ultimate chaotic neutral—pure, unadulterated incompetence weaponized for box office billions.
You put them on your t-shirts. You post their unhinged, deep-fried Facebook memes with quotes about coffee and wine. “I'm feeling a little Minion today!” No, Brenda, you're feeling like a lobotomized nuclear hazard, but sure, let's blame the little guy with one goggle.
At least they understand one fundamental truth about this cruel, beautiful joke of a world: Nothing matters, so you might as well laugh while the laboratory burns down around you.
Can't hate on the hustle, boys. Even if they did ruin every boss they ever worked for.
Hahahahaha.
