This is an example of a bait thread. As it's name implies, this thread uses topics or images that attract the attention of the average user, "baiting" them into replying to it. This produces a chain reaction since the thread tends to get bumped to the top, easily gaining notable amounts of replies.
You have multiple options to choose from whenever you see a thread like this one:
1) Ignore it. This is the most effective option, as you aren't giving the thread any attention. You can also hide a thread or, if the bait consists of it's picrel, you might also feel free of filtering it's file hash.
2) Supersaging it. This can be done by typing "supersage" in the email field, moving a thread to page 2. This only works if the thread is above page 2, as supersaging any thread below that page will simply bump it back there. Not recommended since the OP or any other user might try to "negate" your sage.
3) Use another board. Only do this if the bait floods the catalog to the point it's unusable.
This doesn't tend to happen often, but it's useful to take in mind.
