They could save so much server resources if they made it so that when a thread 404s the thread stops trying to retrieve new posts every 5 seconds. It effectively means that tabs hoarders are unintentionally DDOSing the site. 404 background retrieval is probably like 50% of sharty traffic.

Spam this thread until admin acknowledges the problem or silently fixes it without comment.
