marge is it saying that the distance from B to the bottom is 10 or is it the hypotnuse between A and B (diagonal distance)

 β„–17304138[Quote]

>>17304110
I'm pretty sure it's indicating the distance between A and B (look at the 20 and 60 unit measurements).

I don't know. I think you are meant to work out the surface distance by considering the flat, unfolded surface of the cone (thus making it a 2D sector) and go from there.

This is beyond high school level math, according to Google, so I wouldn't feel bad for not being able to solve it.

The typical Korean high school student dedicates hours daily outside of school to additional tutoring, so it's beyond high school level for any normal country.
>the vast majority of South Korean students get tutored. Data from organizations like the OECD show that over 75% of South Korean students attend private after-school cram schools, known as hagwons, or receive private tutoring.

we can get the height, so that means we can get the angles as well, and ultimately every single hypotnuse, adj and opp side for every triangle which has the corner attached to the train line , idk how to use this information but its a start

 β„–17304358[Quote]

>>17304331
Sorry, 'teen, I can't interpret your writing. I can see how you could find the total distance between A and B using the unfolded sector, but I don't know how you would determine the peak height.

I got distance from A to B as 10sqrt(91):
Circumfrence of sector = 2*20*pi = 40pi using the bottom of the RAT.
2*60*pi*q = 40pi
60*q = 20
3q = 1
q = 1/3
Angle of sector = 2pi/3
Use cosine rule with b = 50, c = 60, A = 2pi/3 to find the distance between A and B
