/qa/ was the meta board on 4cuck. it's whole purpose was bitching about jannies, the site's rules, false bans they received, what boards they liked/disliked, what they wanted changed about the site, which namefags they wanted banned, what rules they thought should be added, etc.
and then, through neglect, it developed a culture that legitimately hated all forms of authority. nobody posting on /qa/ had any love for 4cuck as a site or its administration, every day they'd sit back and watch complaints about it, some silly, some valid, continuously pile up, meanwhile jannies ignored the board entirely and allowed it to just become an autistic faction war shitpost board. and then the sharty was a splinter that was largely used as a bunker whenever someone managed to get banned from /qa/ for spamming too hard or posting something too edgy for 4cuck.
as such, the sharty's culture was essentially built upon a pre-existing culture of rebelliousness, hatred of authority, metawhining, shitposting, and trolling. over time, the culture didn't get any less hostile. instead, it embraced things like doxxing and borderline illegal harassment (shit like signing people up for the military or calling ICE on them) as forms of trolling.
moot left 4cuck after being caught up in a single major controversy (that being gamergate, in which the userbase turned against him for cracking down on it). that alone was enough for him to decide that he couldn't take it anymore, and he needed to move on and go work for jewgle. that single controversy took so much of a toll that he lost all interest in being admin of 4cuck.
meanwhile every sharty admin is guaranteed to be constantly controversial and polarizing, because the userbase are not only predisposed to metawhining, but they don't know or even care what they want, it's all shitposting. someone will post furry porn and then advocate for furry porn to get banned, and then if the admin does it they'll call the site rulecucked. there are good portions of the site's userbase that think posting a fat man's asshole is too immoral for them but will gladly leak someone SSN because they said cobson is coal. this is the sharty's userbase, this is what we do here.
now imagine if not managing to properly appease these people had a genuine chance of you getting doxxed, potentially swatted, potentially deported, sent 60 pizzas, signed up for various cults, forcibly drafted into the marine corps, sent death threats, have your identity stolen, having people show up to your house irl to fuck with you, have people put up posters around your neighborhood saying you're a pedophile, and having your entire extended lineage subjected to the same treatment, all because you didn't appease the userbase properly. and if you try to take precaution by banning raids or something the userbase will be glad to coordinate on other sites exactly how they'll rape you irl.
when you think of it this way, it's no fucking wonder we've been through so many owners geg.
