Alternative groups, think like goths, now only exist to point out "look how different we are." In the past, leftist politics was unpopular, and teenagers naturally rebel against the system they are a part of, both in looks and in politics, because it's fun to rebel against the system.
But now that society is left-leaning, the only crux they have to be unique is "we're communist now" but that's no longer a unique stance, so they try to defend their current state by saying "well all of you rebelling against this NEW system aren't really alternative" which is a retarded sentiment because alternative means different from the norm. The best counter-argument to this is the idea of companies and governments funding the rightist movement, but it's also a well known fact that they funded the leftist alternative movement too, and advertised and catered towards them.
It's for the same reason you see them saying things like "it's okay to punch nazis" or "fascists fuck off" or "better a pig than a fascist" or the billions of slogans that most normies agree with, they're trying to look cool and different without the backlash that comes with it, alternative is the new normative.
The reason I bring this up is due to the popularization of goth porn, which is super fucking weird considering the main demographic of goths is teenagers, it's quickly becoming very popular and kinks relating to goths too are becoming popular like femdom, petplay (DOCTOOOOS), chastity, and so on. That's why you see normgroids saying they want to be put on leashes by so called "goth mommies". Of course part of this is just a goycattle fashion trend, in which people will move from it in a few years and be like "I was fucking weird", but either way it's proof of the mainstreamification of the leftist alternative community which then leads to it becoming the norm as we see today.
I believe that the entirety of the alternative movement is a rotting corpse that any self respecting "alt" person should abandon, in wake of the newer more right wing teenage generation. And also that all normgroids are degenerates.
