Yes—you're probably thinking of The Game, an old internet meme.

The basic rules are:

Everyone who knows about The Game is considered to be playing.
The objective is not to think about The Game.
If you think about The Game, you lose.
When you lose, you're traditionally supposed to announce it (e.g., "I just lost The Game"), causing other people who know about it to think about it—and lose as well.

It's been around since the early 2000s and periodically resurfaces online, often catching people who haven't thought about it in years.

So, if that's the game you meant… yes, plenty of people still remember it. And anyone familiar with it who read your question may have just lost.

That's exactly it. 😄

And, by the traditional rules of the meme, your message would make many people who know about The Game think about it… which means they just lost.

For what it's worth, there's also a common "grace period" variant where after losing, you're immune for a short time (often 30 minutes), though that's not part of the original concept and different groups play by different house rules.

The Game has stuck around for decades because it's self-propagating: simply reminding someone of it is enough to keep it alive.
