OP here, I'm the only one who's voted yes so far.
The first time there was this girl in my class who I would talk to every day, she actually moved her main seat to sit next to me so we could talk more easily. We texted a few times and stuff. Near the end of the semester we were walking together and I asked her if she wants to hang out sometime and she said she had a boyfriend so I was like oh okay and left.

The second time I asked some random girl if I could take a photo of the spot she was sitting next to for my class and she said yeah and that seems normal for her cause she's a photographer major. We talked for a bit and she seemed cool so on impulse I asked her if she wants to hang out and she said yeah that'd be great. We ended up getting lunch a few days later and this second time I kinda wasn't as interested in her as the first but thought she was still nice. I decided I might as well try for a second date even doe I wasn't sure, and then when I texted to hang out again she was like "just to be clear, we're hanging out as friends right?" I was like no I thought that was obvious and she was like oh well sorry not interested. I was like alright and never saw her again. Honestly I think she might have been a lesbian looking back, she was tall and into basketball and seemed a little masculine in some ways, which honestly was what was off putting about her the second time we talked.

I will say that before I asked a girl out for the first time I was very nervous about it for no reason. I guess I had a sort of middle school kid's mindset about dating and crushes where it's this big deal and a crazy thing if you have a crush on a girl. There was a big part of me that thought I should be embarrassed if a girl knew I was attracted to her or something. I suspect a lot of you guys who've never asked a girl out know what I mean.

The thing is though that this mindset is completely retarded and false. You need to understand that it's completely normal to be attracted to someone, and that she won't think you're weird for it or anything like that. Both girls actually seemed flattered that I was into them even doe both rejected me. Maybe I'm delusional but I do think the first girl would've said yes if she didn't have a boyfriend cause she seemed reluctant to tell me and she did seem to like talking to me. But anyways my point is that if you like a girl you should just ask her out. It's not a big deal even if she rejects you and people now know you like her, cause that's fine bro nobody cares or will judge you. Now it would be a lot easier for me to ask out a girl again if I wanted to even after both previous attempts being rejections, since I saw it doesn't matter.
