>>16683072oh absolutely, yes, that was how it went. the pommel was namely nichely used like that in order to concuss rather than dent the armor, but the best way to do it in my eyes was to hold your sword in half sword, like the guy on the left, and try to stick the weapon into a gap, such as the armpits. from there, you lever them down, and then of course stab them wherever you can with your rondel. it's incredibly brutal and intimate shit, its scary. war hammers and the like were used like that at times yes but it was still a lot more fringe compared to the all reliable poleaxe/longsword/halberd. most fights did however just end, wrestling eachother to the floor until your muscles gave out, and then stabbing the other person in the eyes/neck/legs until they bled out.
