Jesus died on the cross for our sins and to fulfill the ceremonial by the penultimate sacrifice, he's the reason why Christians don't have to get circumcised, can eat pork, and don't have to sacrifice lambs. His death wasn't and resurrection wasn't nihilistic and allowed for us to be saved through our faith.

Yeah dude, god isn't breaking his own laws of physics or the moral law he seeks for the world. Basically the purpose I see it as is that God was coming back to give mankind a way to be re-deified and escape the consequences of the fall of adam and eve, thereby offering eternal life. He also had to die so he could btfo satan and rescue good phonos from hell.
