Tip for Modded 'craft bros:
If you have Spartan Weaponry, invest in getting an Iron Saber for melee combat ASAP.

The recipe is dirt cheap, all you need is 1 stick, 1 string (this is for crafting the handle, and string can easily be farmed by killing Spiders), and 3 iron ingots.

Not to mention that it practically deals more damage than a Diamond Sword (it says it only deals 5.5 damage but thanks to the chest damage bonus, you can easily deal 11 damage, you're better off spending the diamond on your pickaxe).

You can also use it with a shield unlike some of the heavy-hitting double-handed weapons such as the Halberd and Greatsword (while they deal tons of damage, you can't use anything in your offhand otherwise the weapon won't work).
