Yeah. Part of the reason why Europeans are so advanced is because we had greater selection pressures to survive and thrive. You need a certain level of intelligence, grit and diligence to plan your harvests, properly store food for the cold winters and dodge/survive illnesses, so the people who would have otherwise had more ease surviving in a hot climate where fruits are on trees year round were deemed unfit and subsequently naturally selected.
