I just saw a large beetle the size of a cat— No, what am I saying, it was just large enough that it grabbed by attention but he could still fit in the palm of my hand. So anyway this beetle was walking to the other side of the road. I :transheart: nature so I wanted to help him, lest he could be crushed under a car tire or someone's boot. So first thing I tried was to guide him with my umbrella so he continues walking to the other side, that didnt work. Next I wanted him to climb my umbrella so I can ferry him to the other side, that also didnt work. So I decided to lend him a hand, literally, he stopped, curious, walked up to it. And now here's a kicker. Like I told you he was pretty big, big enough that I could see it. He opened his mandibles and tried to bite me— ME, his would be saviour. I moved my hand before he could do so, to be fair Im not sure if he could pierce my skin or even hurt me, but due to his size, I think, maybe. Maybe he didn't need neither help nor a saviour, he was self made man, maybe he considered my attempts at helping him as attacks and he was merely defending himself, I don't know. What I do know, is that this encounter taught me that unchecked altruism while noble, can result in your downfall.
