HTSM IS TOO POPULAR OFFSITE

At this point I think HTSM has a bigger presence outside its own community than inside it.

You can't escape it anymore.

Every platform has people reposting HTSM screenshots, HTSM jokes, HTSM discourse, HTSM lore summaries, HTSM "explained" threads, and HTSM takes from people who have clearly never interacted with HTSM directly.

The weirdest part is that most offsite discussion isn't even about HTSM.

It's about what people think HTSM is.

Entire arguments are happening between people whose understanding comes from secondhand screenshots and out-of-context clips.

Meanwhile actual HTSM discussion gets drowned out by tourists farming engagement.

A controversial HTSM post gets shared offsite:

>Thousands of reactions.
>Hundreds of quote-posts.
>Endless moral grandstanding.
>Five different narratives.
>Nobody checks the source.

Then everyone comes back acting like they've conducted a peer-reviewed investigation.

HTSM used to be something you had to actively seek out.

Now it gets force-fed into every feed by people chasing clicks.

The result is that HTSM is no longer judged by what happens within HTSM.

It's judged by whichever screenshot went viral that week.

At some point the offsite audience became larger than the actual audience.

And that's when the discourse stopped being about HTSM and started being about the idea of HTSM.
