question 3: what are your computer specs? some distros run better on certain hardware, and are built for older hardware, i.e. labeled as "lightweight distros" like linux mint, the staple of linux beginners
question 4: do you know what you're doing? if not, look into youtube tutorials for how to boot linux from the BIOS via the aforementioned USB
