just use an official ubuntu flavor if you don't want the zillions of bloat ubuntu stuffs inside their ubuntu OS, consider: Kubuntu (KDE, microsoft-esque DE), Xubuntu (Xfce = lightweight gnome), Lubuntu (LXQt = lightweight KDE).

there is an option within the installation to have a MINIMAL installerino, which just installs the desktop environment which is kinoino because you get to install your web browserino :3 and best of all no excess unnecessary programs you'll never use like 2048 or htop when you can use btop instead! :3c
