how do you get into bass? my younger sister plays it, and she has a shitty spare one that i've tried before out of boredom but i found that i just didn't have any fun with it at all but i still like the idea of playing an instrument

idk much about bass but i think rickenbacker basses look and sound gemmy but cost thrembillions. ibanez basses are also quite gemmy but are more affordable

PJ arrangements are great but i would personally recommend buying 2nd hand for your first bass. squier is generally very good but the affinity range has mixed reputation. i'm a big fan of the yamaha BB range

what's your budget and what style of music?

bass is only really fun if you're playing in a band o algo, then you will understand. good news is that it doesn't take long to get to a good enough standard to join a band, and bassists are in much higher demand than guitarists
