what are the implications of this for imageboard culture at large? in theory, it could cause an influx to a lot of smaller altchans, but i honestly feel that the average 4cucker in current year is far closer to being a xitterite and the possible permanent shutdown of 4kike would only result in a bunch of them migrating to twitter rather than any other imageboard, aside from those who would settle here as it's the 2nd biggest anglophone imageboard and probably the first site they think of aside from 8chan when they hear "imageboard that isn't 4chan"

they have been asking for donations. they have the 4chan pass, they have ads you can purchase, I'm pretty sure after the hack they just outright gave some kind of link to send donations to. I doubt they've been getting many, since most of 4cuck's userbase doesn't give a fuck.
imo I can see hiro shutting it down. with the hack, the lawsuits, the media attention, the fines, it's probably starting to become more of a liability for him. the deletion of /r/ is pretty good evidence of this, in the past jannies would maybe ban AI deepfake porn from the board, make a sticky prohibiting it, add a new rule. or they'd ignore the media attention and wait for it to blow over. now instead hiro/rapeape just deleted the entire board from the site.

there's an entire section for porn on the site. they have more than enough containment boards.
problem is, when your jannies don't make the containment boards actually contain shit, and instead let it spill over to every other board, suddenly they aren't much use.
