i had a good childhood but i don't reflect on it with rose tinted glasses or wish to go back. i was a massively cringe faggot in my preteen years (10-12) due to internet exposure, and before that most of what i can remember is being bored as fuck sitting in class doing trivial tasks while the teacher talked about the importance of feelings and other shit i didn't care about, while at home i mostly just stayed inside drawing stuff, playing with lego or playing on my nintendo ds. they weren't necessarily bad experiences by any means but they were pretty mediocre and ordinary in general, just like the rest of my life

A lot of what you describe (school feeling dull, being more into games/drawing, just passing time) is actually a pretty normal “in-between” stage, even if it feels a bit awkward in hindsight. Preteen years especially tend to be a mix of curiosity, boredom, and picking up influences faster than you really know what to do with them.
