Yeah but I feel like that assumes every possible move is worth doing. It would drastically cut down the computational power if we started solving from traditional book openings as opposed to "ok we need to find out how to beat black if they do nothing but move their pawns one square forward"

I have only ever played civ and hoi4. I liked both but I was too noob for anything higher than normal difficulty on broken civs/nations. Both also get pretty boring in the lategame but I think that's a strategy game staple

I feel too retarded for chess. I can't even beat stockfish 3. The closest I came was a stalemate. I just don't have the intuition that it seems a lot of good chess players have, my best guess is that it's almost a learned trait for people who started practicing from a very young age or it's just genetic (since literal cacas can beat grown men a lot of the time)
