Day 56: I did it! For those who'ven't been following: the subject is a bit of a misnomer now since I've effectively showered a few times already, save for my scalp & hair since I proved a few weeks in that it was perfectly possible to forego full showers without consequence. However, my hair & scalp were not playing as nicely (which was expected) and still aren't. They've since stabilized so they won't get any worse, but I also doubt they'll get any better on their own. My hair looks about the same as it did about a week in, I'd say. And it's looked this way for a few weeks now. Beyond appearance, it actually doesn't itch any more than it did prior to beginning this experiment. The number of bumps has perhaps reduced marginally, so maybe the scalp is healthier– ever so slightly. There is no flaking and no outstanding odor, either. With that said: the single greatest annoyance is the sebaceous buildup which I doubt will ever disappear. Thus begins Phase 2: switching to water-only showering and examining its effects on the hair & scalp.
