No, and something is bad if you ask me about it and I deem it bad.
β16112006[Quote]
>>16111987Harming your family for example a parent physically abusing their child, it is completely unintuitive and goes against our nature
β16112007[Quote]
>>16111987OP here, I am a nigger. That is objectivley wrong. I wish everyday to taste BWC
β16112035[Quote]
>>16112006So you are saying that if something goes against our nature than it is wrong? So from that follows that you are saying that morality is based on our evolution, and if we had evolved differently than we would have different morals?
β16112040[Quote]
>>16111862 (OP)I believe there is no true objective morality in a strict materialist sense, but the way in which we perceive the world is also intrinsically non-materialist and done through our biased lenses, so in practice there pretty much is
the only dilemma is what happens when two people have a different perception of what true objective morality is, but I feel like this is more of a rule of reality rather than a problem: two moral systems clashing with each other to see which one will come up on top. Natural selection just like with evolution
β16112042[Quote]
*then
β16112060[Quote]
>>16112035Possibly yes, although of course there are even situations where harming family would be the so called moral choice such as if you were stranded on an island and had to cannibalise to stay alive
β16112082[Quote]
>>16112040so basically you should behave as if your moral system is the true and objective one (unless you have genuine doubts that actually stem from logical thinking and instinctual reactions)
so if I, for an example, believe that pedophilia is wrong and ought to be punishable by death, and a pedophile genuinely believes that what he does is right, or more likely just doesnt care, then there is no point about debating what is right or wrong, I should just kill him, and I wouldn't expect him to do anything other than kill me instead
β16112096[Quote]
>Do you believe in objective morality?
No
>If you do not, how can you claim that anything is bad?
Perspective, a muslim and a jew may have different moral beliefs to each other yet both believe morality is objective. We rely on the things around us for morality, for instance laws or our own personal biases.

thing i don't like is bad because i said so

morality is objective purely based on biology therefor god designed the biology therefore certain acts are disgusting to god for example if you goon all day you will be drained of all your life force and the energy you emit will be sensed by all beings therefore causing your life experience to be nigger hell tier which therefore proves morality to be dictated by god and observed through his creation or something OK?
β16112193[Quote]
god made it so if you drink your liver will fail there fore drinking is a sin
god made it so if you goon you will be weak therefore goon is a sin

β16112205[Quote]
>>16112082Good thought, however I struggle with one thing β creating my own moral belief system. How can I assign any moral worth to anything when deep down I know that it would be arbitrary? I cannot claim "murder is bad" or even "Good is better than Bad" in the same way in which I can claim that 2+2=4, in fact it doesnt even feel right to say that anything is right or wrong. I feel that the only correct moral stance is "Everything is permitted".
β16112279[Quote]
>>16112205because it isnβt arbitrary. Murder = bad is a fact. Anyone that says otherwise is mentally disabled
β16112290[Quote]
>>16112205except it's not arbitrary, you genuinely feel repulsed, disgusted, angered, saddened etc. by certain behaviors and events, which already is a relevant basis for a moral system
I feel like what you miss is not logical certainty, but a strength of will. Which is more of a psychological issue rather than a purely logical one
I generally believe that when thinking about aspects of their mind, like in this case morality, people should focus less on pure logic and more on irrational psychological factors, like mental health or confidence
β16112310[Quote]
>>16112279you are correct, but for a person with a brain mutation causing them to have deficient empathy, this is an irrelevant point
Im not saying this to excuse them or trying to argue for moral relativity btw, I genuinely believe people like that are ontologically evil and should even be killed
β16112331[Quote]
>>16111862 (OP)morality is fake and gay but i don't do evil because i'd feel bad.
β16112332[Quote]
>>16112310I do not lack empathy, I believe it is built into me and does not originate from my reasoning. What I doubt is it's objectivity, I know that "murder is bad" as in a human dying is bad for humans such as me, but I dont know "murder is bad" as an objective statement.
β16112361[Quote]
>>16112332it doesnt have to be an "objective" statement
humanity never really even functioned based on that line of thinking anyway, you're probably only thinking this because you have too much free time on your hand, a little bit higher iq than a normgroid, and our current society is completely nihilistic
