If i get a guitar and find myself overburdened i wont be able to switch to smth easier first given my parents would be pissed BUT itll be easier to do bass next

If i start with a bass i cant do all the cool stuff early or make stuff independently BUT it’ll be somewhat easier to learn the guitar afterward given it’s easier

Guitar and bass are two different instruments, learn bass if you want to play single note bass lines and learn guitar if you want to play chords / melodies. Listen to some stuff from both of them to find which one you're more interested in.
