I am of the opinion that HTSMposting is best when it's posted in a similar manner to Frogposting, light hearted demoralization that provokes critical self-reflection in often times leaky nuswas. Typically, whenever soyteens are depicted in a worse light than outright glorification, they'll pick it up and repurpose to be "good" and "le based" instead of what it was supposed to be for. You saw that with Nate, where it was used to make fun of the average soyteen (think of Natetok for an example) but got repurposed for self-inserting and the mascot of the soyteen. Now it's happening with Hunky (and HTSM to an extent), where it's being repurposed to be the mascot of the soyteen.
I think the whole repurposing comes from soyteens acting like they're apart of some "counter-culture" by making something representing them good instead of bad, but often times it comes off as autistic and retarded.

Frogposting used to be pretty funny back when it was just "OHNONONONO NUSOICUCKAOOMPALOOMPAS WHAT IS THIS". The JSID shit I feel like is killing it. It used to be a funny thing to post as a reaction to the low-quality posts, but it's become a stim people have latched onto.

I believe that irony-poisoning happens most because you turn off your brain when you start using the same "ironic joke" hundreds of times a day. When that happens, you have no safeguard to tell yourself "I'm being ironic, I wouldn't become a tranny from saying I'm trans btw a few times." for example. Without the safeguard, you eventually come to believe what you originally "joked" about.
To tie this into the JSID ironic demoralization, it's become such a problem that people GENUINELY want the site shut down without thinking about why that's a bad thing. It's that, or the overall atmosphere of the website becomes more negative because of all the "IRONIC" demoralizationposting.
