>>16059388Fat men who sit and think usually are. But also the "four noble truths" as you see them called are quite valid. Generally, everything I've seen about Buddhist teaching is plausible in a way you don't see from anything Abrahamic. I can't say I know a great quantity, but I think I just avoid diving too deep into Buddhist teachings because I'm afraid of facing truth instead of living in delusion
â„–16059563[Quote]
>>16059447why not question the teachings of buddhism, from what i see buddhism has gotten half of the point right what is the point of liberation from sins if there is no way to reaching trve goodness

>>16059676well, there is also the no-self teaching, so you can also not even be sure that you yourself exist. These things are bizarre and confusing, I admit. But one must consider that the conscious experience is itself a bizarre and unexplainable phenomenon. I still think though, that these teachings have more merit than "muh book said X is true", as they are teachings meant to be internalised instead of taken as a truth the same way you would take historical documentation as truth. But again, I do not consider myself well versed in these things for I fear the pain of facing my reality.

>>16059729there is no way of avoiding that pain of reality and we will always have pain in our lives but the bible tells us "3 And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, 4 and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. 5 Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment,[a] because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5
