my acnee is fucked. ive been using a pretty stong retinoid for some time and nothing happened. i used another retinoid before and still nothing happened. i wash my face 4 times per day and still nothing.

should i get on accutane? what are the health risks? i know about the benefits (like less oily hair, obviously since it shrinks your oil glands)

take the carnivore pill

you might be watching your face too much and hurting your skin

>4 times a day
ur overwashing ur face and probably not using a moisturizer there aren't any crazy health risks with Accutane. if its really bad and especially cystic and deep you should take it just know that it takes a while to work

it is systic, its really bad, it was even worse before the washing.

Yes, I used to have bad acne throughout my teen years, but once I got on accutane I've never had a breakout again. I was on it for 8 months, here's what to keep in mind:
>Consistency is important
You must take it daily at the same time
>Your skin will be dry severely and will need constant hydration, same applies for lip, my lips were horribly chapped and it was miserable throughout winter
>You will have to frequently use the bathroom more, when I was on accutane I had to use the restroom x2-3 within the same hour, also avoid drinking 4-5 hours before bed
>Sun Screen is very important when on accutane regardless of season
Best of luck of to you, it sucks in the moment, but you will be grateful in the long run, I wish I had done it sooner

fix your diet for starters, if shit doesnt change then hop on accutane.

If insurance will cover your accutane, it's highly recommended for severe acne. Topical retinoids typically do not have effect on systemic causes.

This is the less extreme route if you decide against accutane.

Wash your face before bed (and ideally in the morning too)
Apply moisturizer right after washing to protect the skin (you just stripped all the protective oils)
Limit sugar. I know you aren't covering your skin in sugar, but your parent are right. Higher blood sugar makes it easier for bacteria to get established in your pores.
Resist squeezing the acne. If you really must, at least clean your nails before doing it and then apply triple antibiotic.
Consider ichthammol for especialy annoying/painful acne, particularly in the corners of the nose. Also just generally nice to have around for bug bites and other skin irritants like hangnail.

Your skin WILL break out like crazy on the first two or so days. Don't panic, this is normal and will calm down quickly. No, don't try to dodge it by starting on a Friday. You WILL forget, and you will be waiting another week for the "perfect timing".

I know what I am talking about. I have gone though it recently enough to be fresh in memory.
You WILL stumble and forget to do it a few times, but eventually it will become an everyday ritual. It's doable, just don't beat yourself up.

-change your pillowcase at least weekly, dont sleep on the same side of the pillow more than once
-fix your diet, go animal based and cut out all the processed junk, grains especially tend to cause alot of problems for people
-wash your face with warm water once a day once you get home from work or whatever you were doing. after this apply any creams you may use, i use adapalene gel and it is very effective, idk if that was the one you tried but if not i would look into it before trying accutane

i used to have acne and doing these helped alot

also you should consume raw dairy if possible because its great for your gut which is the root cause of most acne

Going off the assumption that OP is still living with xer parents, whole diet overhauls are likely out of the question.
And even if xe was living alone, the current economy makes full animal based unaffordable for anyone posting here.

i have bad acne too, i was on accutane for a year and it helped me, my acne was gone then i stopped but apparently my dermatologist only gave me the third of the total treatment (i should have been on double the dose for one more year) but i said i didn't want to take anymore because it was too damn annoying, anyway my acne is completly back now and i'm starting to get fucking tired of it, literally nophono has acne these days, so little person who are with me in school and nophono in the streets or whatever
