Does anyone else just feel apathetic about society? I watch plenty of content about how much the west is falling and I honestly just don't care, sometimes I'm almost happy about it. The economy being slightly better won't suddenly fix my life. Sure, maybe it would be a minor improvement, but I'd still be an asocial retard with zero friends. I love listening to news about stuff like geopolitics and the economy but to me it's almost like it's a fictional world I'm reading about. This stuff just doesn't mean anything to me.

Maybe it's just because my future is pretty secure. My parents were pretty successful, we have a house and they've said they wouldn't kick me out. I'm not a NEET, I'm currently in college, even a fairly low paying job would be enough to pay for the house and my lifestyle isn't very expensive. I don't have much tuition because of scholarships, even if college fails I can probably get some blue collar job like an electrician, those are always hiring. Regardless, I'm not worried about my financial future. I can live with my parents until they die and considering they're in their late 50s that's probably going to be relatively soon. Most likely I'll just live a fairly quiet life by myself, no friends or wife to keep me company.

I wonder if this is a first world thing. Because I live in such a materially wealthy society I can care about things other than my immediate survival. If there's any third world chuds here I'd love to hear your perspective on this.

most things already suck so its not like theres that much left to lose
movies suck now, video games suck, politicians suck, our racial demographics are horrible, surveillance cameras everywhere etc

Personally I'm just waiting for the inevitable mass unrest we're going to go through. It's pretty clear from how things are going right now that we're only a few years away from it. Read about The Troubles in Northern Ireland and The Years of Lead in Italy if you want to see what things will be like in America and probably the entire west over the next few years

You indeed have a pretty nice life, when I check the news about my country, I start to fear for my future

i'm apathetic about everything relating to people, EXCEPT society. i've lost all empathy for individuals but with society it's kind of like a surgery patient that needs to be treated. i can't let fear and worry paralyze me once good work needs to be done, no matter how perilous
i'm an opportunist. every time i see the chance to play a bigger hand in things i have to take it, i can't stop myself even if it'll hurt me
most of the time it's a grueling ordeal but a great success in the end and i'll humiliate and/or punish some truly awful people.
there's legitimately nothing i'm better at than disassembling someone's hubris and using it against them.
manipulating a POS into losing all the status he's worked to achieve and doing it properly is a routine i have down to a T and i take great pride in doing it meticulously
but this urge to act is so gripping that it has actually gotten me in jail before too, because i mostly discipline myself to act out of spite rather than any good will

what's the use in waiting for everything to boil over? a watched pot will never boil, right? i want to light the spark that turns into an unstoppable force of good. not out of the kindness of my heart, mind you; but purely to spite globohomo. because anything pure and good to them is like sun to a vampire.

i frankly have never thought a single person who deemed themselves """apathetic""" to how the state of things will effect them, was doing it for a good reason.
because it WILL have an influence over your life and it's already ruled over you for years, hasn't it? why do you think you're here? to deny just how much the state of the world effects you only comes off as an internal coping measure to me.
won't you fight for your life? won't you fight to protect the people you care about? won't you fight to protect everything you love in spite of it all? where is your fire?

i personally dislike doomscrolling and paying attention to things like news, politics, economy, the job market, blackpilled content, or whatever doomerslop snca grifters talk about. "ai will kill us all" "the gen z incel epidemic" "trump says this n that", i have a ublock script to block recommended videos when i watch my favorite jewtubers. it's not worth the cortisol spike consuming bummer content and regardless of what happens i'll find a way to keep surviving
