I told my grandma about my drug use and I'm worried I scared her.
She sees me as a perfect gifted child and it was probably a shock to her when I admitted I take shrooms from time to time. I feel like I unnecessarily overshared and now I deeply regret it. I tried to explain to her how shrooms aren't addictive and actually help with depression and quitting alcohol/smoking but it didnt comfort her. What do I do to make her stop worrying about this? She was the one to ask me and I didn't want to lie. Did I do the right thing?

mmgm…

Usually old people are not very flexible in their opinions. only thing you can do is let her know that you won't do anything like that anymore, idk, try to tell her about anything positive you did, or show her that your life is stable and maybe she forget

I think you did the right thing by telling the truth. Honestly if I was a grandpa I would also get scared if my grandson would start taking shrooms to help with depression. I think you should do what >>95708 said and maybe find something else to do to help with your depression.

Just be a well adjusted person or at least make her think you are, if she sees how they help you she will likely come around to the idea of you doing them. You can also explain to her how they arent harmful and have proven benefits
