I was on 0.25mg for a month and now I’m off it. It’s been 7 days and I’ve become so anxious and depressed that I am simultaneously SCARED OF DYING and want to die. I don’t know what to do. Please help me. I’m drinking water. Taking 6 aspirins a day to relieve body aches and taking supplements such as lions manes and all the essential vitamins

you're supposed to taper off strong painkillers
this is why heroin addicts go to a methadone clinic
its better to substitute normal use for diazepam first because it has a longer half-life, then taper off diazepam

depends on the half-life of the drug (how much time it takes for half the dose to excrete) versus the speed at which neurons adapt.
For example, nicotine has a half-life of only 24 hours, for very heavy smokers this means withdrawal kicks in a matter of minutes, because the neurotransmitters hasnt had time to decrease, but nic presence has already. Of course this also depends on how many neurotransmitters have changed to become receptive to nic; theres a difference between quitting your first cigarette, and quitting 1 cig after smoking 1 every single day.
Some benzos have a half-life similar to nic, but instead of agitating like nic it inhibits GABA, which makes you stop feeling certain types of pain, the body very quickly compensates by creating more GABA receptors, this is why it takes only a single dose of benzos to become physically dependent
the only option is to take benzos that have been purpose made to have a longer half-life to give the body more time to slowly reduce the amount of GABA receptors

If you want to quit nic you can either cold turkey or taper off, in any case physical dependence will take a couple weeks, whereafter most smokers struggle with the dopamine addiction that accompanies smoking, not nicotine itself
