Should I go to medschool or study computer science instead?
My mom wants me to be a doctor and hates me for not wanting to be one and says that i will never find a well paying job as computer scientist. I know that the job market is not good in CS right now but I'm hoping it will get better by the time I graduate and I'm sure I'm smarter than most in the field so won't stuggle with finding one in the first place. Programming was the only thing that I ever enjoyed as a child, while I can't imagine enjoying studying medicine. I don't know. Any advice?

Sell everything and buy a plot of land in the south and start farming

Follow your dreams. Your mom might want what's best for you but her asking you to live a life where you'll be miserable isn't it. We only get one chance and we have to cherish it the way we see fit. Be the master of your destiny.

You need to pick specific discipline in IT before making decision. "computer science" is kinda vague. Software development, hardware, web, security, communications, automatization etc. What exactly do you like the most?

do mathematics instead

if you study computer science just know its going to be insanely difficult to find a job, and I don't have high hopes for entering the field as well. On the other hand there will always be a need for Doctors, if you go to medschool and manage to become one your essentially set for life.
However if you have doubts dont join medschool, chances are the workload will be too much and you'll just drop out. However just remember, people who "follow their passions" and do whatever they want usually remain miserable for the rest of their lives after going to a field they knew would be hard to find employment in.
If I was you I would probably go into mathematics (or maybe engineering if you like science) whilst still doing programming on the side just in case.

If you do medschool you'll either drop out or push through and hate it. If you actually like programming then stick to what you like. Don't like it? Don't don't do it. Shrimple as can be.

TSMT, med school is no joke and will make your life hell if you don't want to do it. Do some online courses for CS, find what you want to specialise into, and then do that. Tell your mother that no matter what you aren't doing med school. Make it really clear that it isn't an option for you. She is trying to help you out, and it is true that CS is getting harder to get a job in, but try and show her that what you want to do has jobs available.

Also consider doing some sort of CS mixed with data science course. There might be limited CS jobs, but the banking sector and anything with data needs people to do the statistics work for them. A ton of companies have jobs for that, i doubt positions are too limited.

Also maybe look into cpu/gpu architecture and manufacturing you might be able to find a job there more easily

Where is that

I’m currently a computer science major, and even with the job market being as brutal as it is, I managed to secure an internship. Still, I’d honestly recommend going into medicine instead. The demand is only going to grow, and it’s much more resilient against AI. If you have the aptitude for it, it’s definitely the better move.

15% of premeds become doctors
you spend 4 years getting a bachelor's, then 4 years in med school, then after graduation you spend 4 years as a resident, which means you'll be working 80 hours a week making $40k a year, ranges from 3-7 depending on specialty but only after residency do you finally get paid like a doctor.
if you don't care about medicine or the human body then you absolutely will not survive med school, and you'll be stuck with a bachelor's you don't need and medical school debt but without medical doctor pay. I wouldn't do CS because the job market is just so hopelessly hell that it sound worse than actually studying the degree.
IMO you should do the SNCA gen ed classes that every college forces you to regardless of the degree (which takes like 2 years) and during that time try and figure out what you like
or become an indieslop dev and make money off of selling indieslop games idk
